Brass Polish...

Brass Polish...

OK Gang... I had been using Frankford Arsenal (Quick-N-EZ) Brass Polish....  (in Walnut)
...Until, I grabbed the bottle and it was like paste in the bottom...  guess I let it sit too long.

I have heard of peeps using Flitz  http://www.midwayusa.com/Product/816895 … -oz-liquid
Anyone else use this?

Also... I hear tell peeps are using Nu -Finish in there... but I would be afraid of gumming.

THOUGHTS?????

Re: Brass Polish...

My experience is that it depends somewhat on the media you are using.

A pure corn cob media seemed to work best with brass polish for me, and gave really good results.  (I typically use Berry's brass polish from Sportsman Warehouse.)

However it didn't work as well for me with walnut media.  Right now I'm using Turbo Tumbler walnut, straight up with no polish in a vibratory case cleaner, and getting pretty good results.    (That same media, combined with a helping of brass polish left a red film on the brass, probably because the media is pretty "dusty" straight out of the box.)

I've heard good things about Nu-finish too, but never tried it.

Ditto. I've tried adding a dab of Flitz to my walnut media and invariably I get several cases coated with red residue. Pretty much given up on polish. If I want the brass more shiny, I put in fresh media and let it tumble an extra .5hr or so.
