Trigger Time Gun Club’s Pistol Basics class covers the Colorado Revised Statutes for carrying and concealing a handgun on your person. Our 8 hour class goes over a significant amount of detail in terms of the legalities of owning and carrying a firearm, laws, and regulations that you will need to follow to stay legal in the state of Colorado. Our class also covers an introduction to firearm manipulation and handling.

We have two options for this class: one Saturday eight-hour session OR if you would rather, we now offer a two day class broken down into four hour sessions on two separate days. You MUST attend both four hour sessions in order to complete the course.

Please confirm with your County Sheriff the process involved with obtaining your new or renewal CCW before signing up for our class to make sure you are able to do so under the current class requirements. The certificates issued through our class will only be valid until June 30th due to the new CCW class requirements that will take effect July 1st for the State of Colorado.

Our Pistol Basics class is hosted by NRA certified instructors that will provide you with a overview of handgun operation and ownership. During this eight hour class, many topics revolving around handgun ownership, operation, and proficiency will be discussed. This class is a great introduction to owning, using, and carrying a handgun for protection/self defense practices. The class will start with getting you familiar to the crucial safety surrounding handguns, and how they operate. From there, the class will dive into some of the basic and broad legalities of both handgun ownership and the use of a handgun in a self defense encounter within the State of Colorado. After some training on proper stance and grip for handgun operation, we will move down to the range and practice some live fire shooting with some newly acquired skills. To pass the class, you will need to obtain a passing score on our proficiency test/target to obtain your CCW Training certificate for the State of Colorado. All training in this class conforms with the current Colorado Revised Statues regarding self defense and handgun permit.
